These earrings are handcrafted from light wood into the shape of the Gyawu Atiko adinkra symbol. Gyawu was a must revered and honored chief and warrior. He created this hairstyle and as a result it has come to represent a trusted and honored person. The earrings are lightweight with silver toned fishhook earwires. They are hand stained and will vary slightly. Each pair generally measures: 3”(L) x 2.25”(W). Choose in either honey, walnut or espresso.

GYAWU ATIKO- Gyawu was a name of a warrior King of Bantama in the Ashanti. Atiko is the back of the head. It is said to be a hair design of Kwatakye, a war hero, who was a chief of Bantama, a suburb of Kumasi Kingdom.
